State Trooper Nicholas F. Clark

New York State Police

End Of Watch: July 02, 2018

Trooper Nicholas Clark, 29, was shot and killed after responding to a barricaded suicidal persons call(details within).

Born with a soul that has Courage to wear the Badge, Trooper Clark had been Saving, Serving, and Protecting the People as a Law Enforcement Officer for three years.

Brother Nick was a stand-out athlete who competed in High School and College wrestling and football and was even invited to try out as a free agent for the NFL Buffalo Bills but his call to serve was too strong ...

Nick finally realized his second dream of becoming a New York State Trooper after completing Academy which began in March 2015, becoming a graduate of the 203rd session of the New York State Police Academy's Basic School on September 03, 2015.

Trooper Clark served in both Troops C/SP Ithaca and Troop E/SP Auburn before receiving his current assignment at Troop E/SP Bath as of August 2017. This was his home town area and Brother Nick was excited to be able to give back to the community who had supported him and his dreams for so long.

Courageous and Compassionate, Fearless and Fair, this Brave and Benevolent Son and Brother of Blue simply wanted to make a difference in his small corner of the world. May we take a part of Brother Nick's legacy with us when we enter our daily arenas as we continue to create our own. May we vow to continue with the same Honor, Integrity, and Bravery as this True Blue served.

May we always remember how State Trooper Nicholas F. Clark Lived As Only A Hero Could.

May we never forget how his life was taken when he came running to help a man in crisis ...

*Just preliminary, we will update additional details once released public* ... On Monday, July 02, 2018, 0330hours, Trooper Clark, the Stueben Country Sheriff’s Office and Corning Police Department responded to a 911 call from 10041 Welch Road in the Town of Erwin in Steuben County regarding a suicidal person.

The Officers set up a perimeter and attempted crisis negotiation tactics but were unable to make contact with the suspect inside.

Sometime during this barricade, the suspect shot Trooper Clark.

Sadly, and with very heavy hearts, this proved to be our Brother's final battle ...

New York State Trooper Nicholas F. Clark succumbed to gunshot wound and was pronounced on scene then transported to Lourdes Hospital for autopsy.

Nick leaves behind his beloved dad Anthony, mom Theresa, brother Nathan, and extended families. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the entire extended Clark families, the Men and Women of the NYSP, to all first-responders who came running to help, to the hospital staff at Lourdes, and to all whom have had the pleasure and the privilege of knowing and working along side this True Blue Hero.

Our Brother, as you now patrol the Highways of Heaven may you continue your vigilant watch over us all as we carry on in the battles to come ... In Our Brother's Honor. We thank you for your service and for your sacrifices. We thank you for your life. Job Well Done Sir.

Rest In Peace State Trooper Nicholas F. Clark ... We Have The Watch From Here. SALUTE!
