Threatened with a declining population dwindling below 100,000 in 20 African countries and facing extinction within the next 10 years its time we stand up and walk as one. I am launching this fundraising campaign to raise awareness, support and much needed funds for the Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue and Protection. The Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue and Protection was established by Jim and Jenny Desmond to provide life time care for the 66 chimpanzees abondoned on a Liberian island by the New York Blood Centre. Since their establishment authorities in Liberia have started confiscating chimpanzee orphans who were destined for the illegal pet and bush meat trades from poachers. 20 orphans now call the Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue and Protection home. Currently housed at the old research house the LCRP is a non-profit Liberian NGO and is in need of funds to establish this much needed sanctuary to provide life time care for these orphans.
